Spring is in full swing, so it’s a great time to hit the golf courses around Chicago. We know that there are a lot of choices, so we rounded up our favorite golf courses near our new homes in the Chicago suburbs.

 

Highlands of Elgin

14 minutes from Highland Woods

Highlands of Elgin features a lighted practice facility, 20 hitting stations, short game area and a 9,000 sq. ft putting green, an indoor golf simulator, and it was named the #2 best course in Illinois by Golfweek.

 

Bowes Creek Country Club

12 minutes from Highland Woods

This 18-hole course showcases woodland and wetland areas, a lake, rolling farmland, stands of mature trees and scenic bluff slopes, and was recently named Golf Advisor’s #1 golf course in Illinois for 2016.

 

Springbrook Golf Course

8 minutes from Ashwood Park

Springbrook features an 18-hole championship golf course, a 28-stall natural turf driving range, two practice putting greens and a short game practice green with bunkers, with views of lush foliage and mature trees.

 

Naperbrook Golf Course

9 minutes from Hidden Creek

Naperbrook Golf Course features rolling hills, native prairie grasses and ten ponds, with four sets of tees, large greens, one double green, hidden bunkers and wide fairways. The facility also houses a ten-acre driving range, separate lesson tee and 10,000 and 3,000 square foot practice putting greens.

 

Tamarack Golf Club

Tamarack was named “Best New Public Golf Course of the Year” by Golf Digest when it debuted in 1989. The course features rolling sculpted fairways and manicured greens with numerous water features and unique bunkering.

Far from your typical golf course, Topgolf is a golf entertainment complex where you play competitive point-scoring golf games on a 240-yard outfield with dartboard-like targets in the ground.
