Easy Spring Cleaning Checklist For Your Overstreet Home

Apr 30, 2019

Spring has sprung throughout our Overstreet communities! Treat your Overstreet home to the deep clean it deserves in preparation for the warmer months ahead. Dust away the remnants of winter with this helpful and easy spring cleaning checklist. Give these basic tips a try when cleaning the many surfaces of your Overstreet Home, room by room.

Dust Thoroughly

From bookshelves to ceiling fans, dust everything! Whether it’s your living room or master bedroom, work from the top of a room to the very bottom, vacuuming away any dust that settles on the floor. Make sure to dust away debris from hard to reach places like corners, moldings, door frames, and the bottom and top of your refrigerator. When not reaching for those hard to dust corners with your vacuum hose, use a microfiber cloth to dust off the surfaces of your walls, ceiling fans, and other flat surfaces.

Wipe It Clean

Once your home is dust free, after thoroughly dusting each room from top to bottom, grab your go-to surface cleaner and begin wiping those hard surfaces down. Before reaching your bedroom and bathrooms, wipe down the common living areas your family is known to dwell in. Kitchen counters/islands, coffee/dining room tables, stovetops, refrigerators, and cabinets should be at the top of your list! If you have stainless steel appliances, try wetting your sink and faucet with water, then sprinkle baking soda to scrub off leftover food debris and grease.

Organize

Some of the food and household supplies sitting in your homes pantry, cabinets, and refrigerators, are either expired or out of season. Refresh your home and re-organize the interior of your cabinets in the kitchen and bathroom. Make sure to throw out any expired food products, empty cleaning supplies, and any other loose objects that could leave your cabinets feeling cluttered. After clearing your cabinets, organize your pantries, refrigerator, and kitchen and bathroom cabinets with a rotating turntable. Replace

The spring season can bring about a new atmosphere to any home! Trade in those heavy curtain drapes, throw pillows, and bedding for lighter materials! Cotton percale sheets are perfect for the spring season since the loosely woven fine cotton offers a crisp, cool feel, which is perfect for the warmer months ahead. Switching out the materials in your home to suit the season is a great way to add a pop of color to your decor this spring!
