Although Morton’s Arboretum is a half hour drive away from our Hidden Creek community in Naperville, this green oasis becomes a tapestry of vibrant reds, fiery oranges, crisp yellows, and a hint of rich purple leaves. The Arboretum’s 1,700 acres of woodlands, wetlands, and prairie make for those perfect walks set to the backdrop of a breathtaking scene.

Not only does the Greene Valley Forest Preserve feature 1,388-acres of more than 540 native plant species, but it’s also one of the county’s most botanically diverse sites, making it perfect for the best fall foliage! The park features a 190-foot-tall scenic overlook that offers a bird’s-eye view of DuPage County and the Chicago skyline. Only 22 minutes away from Overstreet’s Ashwood Park community, feel free to enjoy a nice picnic on your autumn adventure!

 

Park visitors will see the beautiful colors of fall reflect from the trickling falls at Waterfall Glen Forest Preserve. Known for its Rocky Glen waterfall, Sawmill Creek bluff overlook, and extensive trails, the preserve offers gently rolling to hilly terrain with 11 miles of trails popular with hikers, bicyclists and horseback riders. Walk, bike, or run through the colors of autumn at this Naperville hidden gem!
