Designed to Be Experienced: Inside Our New Kensington Model

We’ve been looking forward to this moment for quite some time. Our newest model home, the Kensington, has officially opened its doors at the Reserves of Saddle Creek in south Naperville.

The Kensington welcomed its first visitors during the 2026 Cavalcade Tour of Homes, and we were thrilled with the response during the first weekend. It has been exciting to see guests walk through the home, experience the spaces for themselves, and discover the details we carefully considered throughout the design.

For us, the Kensington represents more than a new model home. It is another opportunity to showcase what we love about custom homebuilding: creating a home that feels beautiful, personal, and purposeful.

A New Model. A New Chapter.

The Kensington is the newest expression of three generations of Overstreet Builders experience.

As a family-owned builder, we have always believed that the best homes begin with thoughtful collaboration. Every family lives differently, which is why we approach each custom home as an opportunity to create spaces around the people who will ultimately call it home.

With the model, we wanted to create a home that feels equally suited to everyday family life and entertaining. The mature surroundings of the Reserves of Saddle Creek also played an important role in the design, giving us the opportunity to connect the interior spaces with the natural setting outside.

A Kitchen Designed to Gather

One of the first things you'll notice about the model is the way the kitchen and gathering spaces flow together.

The chef's kitchen serves as the heart of the home, with a dedicated scullery and oversized walk-in pantry providing additional space for preparation, storage, and keeping the main kitchen organized.

We also incorporated a nearby wine room between the kitchen and formal dining room offering the perfect space for serving and an ultimate conversation piece. Off the kitchen is a garden room that expands the dining and gathering areas. Together, these spaces create a setting that works just as well for a quiet family dinner as it does for entertaining friends and extended family.

We wanted the kitchen to be more than a beautiful focal point. It needed to be a space that works beautifully in everyday life.

Bringing the Outdoors In

The connection to the outdoors continues throughout the Kensington.

Large windows take advantage of the mature tree line surrounding the home, while the three-seasons room creates another comfortable place to enjoy the outdoors throughout much of the year.

We also wanted the primary suite to have its own connection to the setting. A private balcony directly off the owner's bedroom provides a quiet place to step outside, enjoy the views, or simply have a few peaceful moments at the beginning or end of the day.

A Private Retreat Designed for Wellness

The primary suite was designed with relaxation and wellness in mind.

The private balcony gives the bedroom its own outdoor retreat, while the primary bathroom brings the feeling of a spa into the home.

A spacious steam shower provides an opportunity to unwind, while a soaking tub offers another place to slow down at the end of a busy day. We also included a private sauna to complete the wellness-focused space.

These features were intentionally brought together to create more than a luxurious bathroom. We wanted the primary suite to feel like a true retreat, a place where you can step away from the pace of everyday life without ever leaving home.

It's one of the things we love about custom homebuilding. Wellness doesn't have to be an afterthought. It can be thoughtfully incorporated into the spaces you use every day.

Designed Around the Way You Live

Throughout the Kensington, we focused on creating spaces that feel purposeful.

The first-floor in-law suite provides a comfortable and private space for extended family or guests. Additional gathering areas give families room to come together, while quieter spaces throughout the home offer opportunities for privacy and relaxation.

For us, this is at the heart of custom homebuilding. It's not simply about choosing finishes or modifying a floor plan. It's about thinking through how a family lives and creating a home that supports those routines, relationships, and moments.

The Kensington is currently featured in the 2026 Cavalcade Tour of Homes, and we're excited to welcome visitors for the second weekend of the tour on September 25–27.

Tour hours are 10 AM–6 PM Friday and Saturday and 12–5 PM Sunday.

And if you haven't made it to Cavalcade, we're looking forward to welcoming the public to the Kensington for its official Grand Opening on Saturday, October 3, from 1:00–4:30 PM.
